A few readers have asked how Dragon got her name, which is pretty funny considering I cut that information on the grounds that no one would care about how Dragon got her name! I suppose I could've included a quick scene explaining things, but I couldn't bear to tear apart the initial first chapter I created a couple years ago. Call it the misgivings of a new writer. I ended up writing a prologue that definitively describes the world of Undertow, which I think is important to know right off the bat, and peppering Dragon's backstory throughout the rest of the novel.

This first attempt at a prologue really encapsulates Dragon's bitter relationship with her grandmother and her burgeoning love for Jasper. It also underscores all that Dragon risks by continuing to "fix" men.
